Tonya Holloway (Alice) Soul Rep Theatre co-founder and Co-Associate Artistic Director of Film, has worked in the film, commercial, and theatre industries for over 20 years. Most recently, she served as Writing Consultant on the Amazon Prime series #Washed and portrayed "Detective Karen" in the popular Hulu series, Cruel Summer. Holloway also performed in the Pure Flix series Vindication and can be seen in the upcoming feature, ImPossible, starring Sherri Shepherd.
When she’s not acting, she enjoys the other side of the camera, working on film shorts and writing. This is Tonya’s return to the stage in five years. She would like to thank her ever-loving husband, who constantly supports all her endeavors, her children, and her extended family for their continued love and support.
Bill Hass (Henry) Bill was last seen in Soul Rep's presentation of "Travisville". As a writer, actor, and director, he has been working in the DFW theater/film community for over 30 years. Previous credits include "Gem of the Ocean", "The Bluest Eye", and "Dance on Widow's Row" at Jubliee Theatre; "Sam Shade", and "The Ties That Bind" with DVA Productions; as well as two feature and multiple short films that he wrote, directed, and acted in. He also serves as the Festival/Programming Director for the Fort Worth Indie Film Showcase, an annual celebration of independent film, currently preparing for their eighth season in July 2023.
I am thankful for the opportunity to help tell this story with such a talented castmate and crew. Maybe, as you watch Henry and Alice, you might see just a little bit of your own relationship...maybe.
Angelo Reid (Understudy - Henry), a Soul Rep company member, is a Charleston, South Carolina, native. His Soul Reps acting credits include GOOD GRIEF (Papa), BOURBON AT THE BORDER (Charlie Thompson) and YELLOWMAN (Eugene Gaines). Other favorite acting credits include A SOLDIER’S PLAY (Captain Richard Davenport), MISS EVERS BOYS (Dr. Eugene Brodus), SHOUTING DOWN A QUIET LIFE (Emmett Fludd), THE ODD COUPLE (Roy), and BIG RIVER (Jim).
Octavia Y. Thomas (Understudy - Alice) - is delighted to join Soul Rep once more in this funny, heartfelt production. Last seen in Soul Rep's Travisville, If Pretty Hurts at Jubilee Theatre, and as Goneril in Auriga Production's King Lear, she has performed throughout DFW – including Echo Theatre, Circle Theatre, Dallas Children’s Theater, Lyric Stage, Pegasus Theatre, Stage West, and Theatre Arlington. Favorite productions include Obama-ology, Men on Boats, Let It Be Me, Company, Batboy, Women Playing Hamlet, Showboat, Once on This Island, Little Shop of Horrors, Junie B. Jones, and A Midnight Cry. Many thanks to Soul Rep for providing such a wonderful opportunity and to her family and friends for their continued support. Miss Thomas received her BA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Dee Hunter-Smith (Director) is a member of Soul Rep and serves as Associate Artistic Director of Theater. She has worked on and off the stage for over 25 years. Dee holds a Bachelor of Arts from Prairie View A&M University and a Master of Fine Arts from The California Institute of the Arts, in Theater Management. She directed Soul Rep’s critically acclaimed productions of GOOD GRIEF, STEAL AWAY, THE COLORED MUSEUM, FOR COLORED GIRLS…, and Stud Terkel’s RACE. She’s worked with many other theater companies such as Jubilee Theater and African American Repertory Theater.
Daylene Carter (Stage Manager) would like to thank God for this opportunity and all the opportunities of her career. She is a seasoned stage manager who has worked with several theatres including Monmouth Theatre, ME, Monomoy Theatre, MA, Dallas Theatre Center, TX, The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, TX, The Dallas Children’s Theatre’s national tour of African Tales of Earth and Sky to name a few. She is currently the Director of Production for Soul Rep Theatre Company as well as the Fine Arts Department Chair at Lyles M.S. in Garland where she teaches acting, directing, and stage management.
Ashley Oliver (Costume Designer) Designer, Actor, and Director from Arlington, Tx. She holds a BA in Drama from Prairie View A&M University and has been working in theaters around Dallas/ Fort Worth for 15 years as a Stage manager. She has worked on such shows as Cake Ladies, Little Women, Ann, Fetch Clay Make Man (Dallas Theater Center) Amazing Grace, Hurt Village, Dot, Do No Harm (Soul Rep Theatre) Bootycandy, Mr. Burns Post-Electric Play, Deer(Stage West), Shakin the Mess Outta Misery, Flight (Jubilee Theater) and Erykah Badu's One (Hu)man show (TBAAL) and many other shows.

Lauren Schlossberg(Lighting Designer) Lauren recently graduated from Texas Woman's University. She interned at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas. In addition, Lauren has been a technical director for high school productions at Theatre Denton.
