Tonya Holloway has worked in film and theatre as a freelancer for over 20 years. She is Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Film for Soul Rep Theatre. The Fort Worth native served as Writing Consultant on the Emmy nominated Amazon Prime series #Washed as well as Casting Director for season two. In 2021, she worked on two features, ImPossible, starring Sherri Shepherd, JoMarie Payton and Gregg Daniel and the 70’s comedy, The Rings That Bind Us. She currently can be seen as Detective Karen Anderson on the Hulu hit series, Cruel Summer.
Anyika McMillan-Herod is an author, essayist, playwright, and poet. A Dallas native, Herod is an alum of Booker T. Washington High School (’89), holds a BFA in Theater from Prairie View A&M University (’93) and studied acting in California Institute of the Arts’ MFA program. She is co-founder and Executive Director of Soul Rep Theatre Company and a 2019 Public Voices Fellow with the OpEd Project. Anyika’s recent projects include the critically acclaimed DO NO HARM, exploring the lives of three enslaved women experimented on by Dr. J. Marion Simms deemed “The Father of Modern Gynecology” and THE MONARCH, a meditative play on the journey through breast cancer.

Gregg T. Daniel (Thomas) is best known for his role as Reverend Daniels on HBO’s hit show True Blood. With over 100 credits in film and television, Gregg’s roles span the spectrum from comedy (I Am Not Okay With This) to drama (Insecure) to procedurals (911, Grey’s Anatomy), science fiction (Star Trek: Voyager) and children’s shows (Austin & Ally, Kickin’ It). Big screen credits include Spiderman 3, 7th & Union, and Truth Or Dare. Currently, Gregg is recurring on HBO’s Insecure and stars in the upcoming film 7th And Union. An accomplished theatre director, Gregg is the Artistic Director of the Los Angeles-based Lower Depth Theatre Ensemble, and was nominated for a 2013 NAACP Image Award for helming the Los Angeles production of Kwame Kwei-Armah’s Elmina’s Kitchen, which also won the NAACP Award for Best Ensemble for 2103. Prior to that, his stage direction included 2009’s acclaimed production of Tom Stoppard’s Heroes, Sybyl Walker’s Beneath Rippling Waters, Lee Blessing’s Cobb, and Frank McGuinness’s Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me. Gregg also directed Pulitzer Prize-winning author August Wilson’s Seven Guitars For Theatre 150 in Ojai, California, he directed Athol Fugards’ Sizwe Bansi, Diana Son’s Stop Kiss, and the 2004 Pulitzer Prize winner, I Am My Own Wife by Doug Wright.
Alisa Peoples (Puddin’), half of the R&B music duo, Yarbrough and Peoples, has had a successful and illustrious career in the recording industry. Her golden vocals and talent has taken her around the world, performing before her many fans. She currently resides in her hometown of Dallas with husband Cavin Yarbrough where they own and operate their own music production company, Y & P Productions. They continue to write, produce, mentor and perform concerts. Alisa is no stranger to the stage. In 2009, they both appeared in the Off-Broadway musical Blind Lemon Blues at the York Theater in New York. The duo was also featured on an episode of TV One’s Unsung. In 2021, Alisa worked with her husband once more in the upcoming comedy, The Rings That Bind Us.
Cavin Yarbrough (Abe), half of the popular R&B music duo, Yarbrough and Peoples, is not only a talented musician, producer and composer, he is also an actor, known for Top of the Pops, The Rings That Bind Us, and The John Davidson Show. He has been married to Alisa Peoples since 1987. He currently resides in his hometown of Dallas where he, together with his wife, operate their own music production company, Y & P Productions. In 2009, they both appeared in the Off-Broadway musical Blind Lemon Blues at the York Theater in New York, where Cavin had the honor of portraying Lead Belly. The duo’s music career was also featured on an episode of TV One’s Unsung.
Douglas Carter (Weeping Willy), is a native of Bossier City, LA and member of Soul Rep Theatre Company. He has performed all over Dallas and the surrounding areas. Some of his theatre credits are Hurt Village, The Freedmans, East Texas Hotlinks, Home Coming, John Coltrane, Dream Girls, A Lesson Before Dying, Gem of the Ocean and the list goes on. His film credits include Higher Power, Jesus Freak and Only in America directed by David Ducrane. Douglas also worked on the Fox tv series Prison Break.
Stakiah Lynn Washington (Rachel) is an actor, playwright, and director from Flint, Michigan. As a child, she fell in love with the arts and performed in plays at church, sang in the choir, and played musical instruments. In 2017, Stakiah was a finalist in the August Wilson Monologue Competition. Upon graduating high school. Stakiah went on to pursue her BFA in Theatre Studies from Meadows School of the Arts. While at SMU, she was a part of many productions including We The Invisibles, Smart People, and most notably, The Black Album written and directed by Regina Taylor. After graduating, Stakiah landed the lead role in “Everything Is Both” that will open in theaters in the fall of 2022!
Tony Williams (Vaughn) is a native of Thomasville, Ga., Tony joined the US Navy after high school and worked as an aircraft electrician. With a love for film, Williams began working on his craft and in 2013, landed his first national commercial. Williams relocated to Dallas to further his new-found career as an actor. He has been working steadily in the industry as an up and coming must-see actor.
Shyla Sneed (Young Girl) is a local actress, model, and great student! FLESH AND BONE marks her second project with Soul Rep Theatre Company.
Guinea Bennett-Price (Dorothy), a native Dallasite, is co-founder and Artistic Director of Soul Rep Theatre Company. She is an actor, director, playwright and Theater educator, currently serving as Director of the Theater Conservatory of her high school alma mater - Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She holds a BFA in Theater from Howard University in Washington D.C and an MFA in Theater from Texas A&M Commerce. Her select acting credits include GOOD LATIMER, BLACK NATIVITY, SPUNK, IN THE BLOOD, FOR COLORED GIRLS…, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, DREAMGIRLS, DEATH AND THE KING’S HORSEMAN.
Thaddeus “Sonny" Jefferson (Cinematographer) is a creative and experienced Media and Graphic Design specialist with over fifteen years of experience in the design of mechanical and vector drawings for product marketing, packaging, logos, and national advertisements. He’s also worked extensively as a videographer, editor, and cinematographer these last few years on various projects, from documentary film, short films, and music videos. Most recently, Sonny worked on the documentary HARGROVE by Eliane Henri about the life of Dallas’ own Grammy Award winning trumpeter, Roy Hargrove. He also served as cinematographer for Soul Rep’s first venture into film – DO NO HARM – in 2020.
Fredrick Sanders (Score Composer) has a masterful piano style, replete with youthful-yet seasoned chords, that has been enthusiastically enjoyed by audiences ranging from elementary school to heads of state. He is well versed in a variety of modern jazz styles which includes New Orleans Trad, New Orleans Brass Band, swing, Bop, and Avant-garde. He began studying classical cello at the age of 10. He excelled at cello, winning awards for outstanding performances.
Sanders received his early jazz education at Arts Magnet High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, TX. Sanders was recognized as Downbeat Outstanding Instrumentalist for Cello and was named High School arranger of the year for his arrangement of Dan Haerle's "Crib Chimp". After high school, Fredrick's desire to enhance his musicianship kept him busy. Sanders found time to serve as sideman for jazz greats such as Clark Terry, David "Fathead" Newman and Texas tenor James Clay. He was chosen to open for pianist Shirley Horn at the Caravan of Dreams in Fort Worth, TX.
In 1992 Fredrick was afforded the opportunity to study with avant-garde jazz legend Alvin Batiste and pianist/conductor Frank White at Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. Sanders' skill and execution on piano won him a position in a group of musicians that accompanied Alvin Batiste at the De Oosterport Groninga New Music festival in Amsterdam and appear on Alvin Batiste CD entitled "Late."
