Keeping with tradition, Soul Rep’s season kicked off the season with its groundbreaking, thought provoking and always entertaining festival featuring short, new works from local, regional, and national playwrights, specifically highlighting works written by women and playwrights of color. This year’s Festival directors included Monique Williams, Camika Spencer and Rene Miche’al. The plays were INSIDE EDITION by LaNeedra Cornelius, TEACH by Camika Spencer, DRUMS OF MY SO BLACK ME by Chris Herod, HIM/HER by Mary Hill Spigner, and SCENES FROM THE MONARCH by Anyika McMillan-Herod.
